In 1987, when Wendy Smith took over an old-school beauty parlor in Park Slope, her multicultural background inspired her to create a salon that would cater to all hair textures. “Back then,” she says, “if you walked into the wrong salon, stylists would actually say, we don’t do your type of hair.” Wendy’s approach was different, the Salon Bohemia philosophy is that hair is hair – curly, kinky, wavy or straight- you just need to apply the correct techniques and products for each individual client. I just got my crazy moody curly hair done by Wendy, this was my first time with her, and she was amazing. I felt so comfortable with her. She really took the time to speak with me about my hair and caring for it. Anytime a friend asks for a salon recommendation, they are the first place I suggest. Salon Bohemia can do ANY hair. I am extremely picky and a perfectionist when it comes to hair and I have yet to see a single less-than-amazing haircut, color, or style walk out the door of that salon. Seriously!!! It is no joke! When the seats are filled it’s like the United Nations of hair and everyone is getting something different done, and everyone leaves looking fabulous.
